Gary Dutton

In March I spent a weekend in Anglesey with friends from North Staffs Mind. We stayed in an old school house. We all chipped in with the cooking and cleaning and we had a right laugh. On Saturday we went to Beaumaris which was a pretty little town. The weather was beautiful but a little windy and cool. Instead of driving down the A55 we went the scenic route through the countryside stopping off in picturesque Llangollen for some lunch. We are going away for another weekend to Betys Coed in June when hopefully the weather will be much warmer.

Did you go to Beaumaris Castle? It's a splendid example of that time when the English tried to defend their claim to north Wales, and especially Anglesey which was strategically important because crops grew so well there.
